Zachary Wright
Zachary Wright is an award-winning educator, author, and advocate for equity in education with over a decade of experience spanning K–12 classrooms, higher education, curriculum design, and education policy.
He has been recognized as a U.S. Department of Education School Ambassador Fellow Finalist, Philadelphia’s Outstanding Educator of the Year, and a published thought leader featured in Education Leadership and The Philadelphia Inquirer. His work is rooted in culturally responsive pedagogy, instructional innovation, and expanding opportunities for historically underserved communities.
Driven by a deep commitment to educational justice, Zachary launched the Mastery Catamount Scholarship, which guarantees full-ride scholarships for underrepresented students, and has led national advocacy campaigns such as the Bridging the Digital Divide Day of Action. Whether writing, teaching, or mentoring, his mission remains the same: to dismantle systemic barriers and create equitable, liberatory learning environments where every student can thrive.
Wright was recruited by Facebook and Edutopia to speak on digital education and in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, organized demonstrations to close the digital divide. His writing has been published by The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Citizen, Chalkbeat, Educational Leadership, and numerous education blogs. His first book, Dismantling a Broken System; Actions to Bridge the Equity, Justice and Opportunity Gap in American Education was published in 2022.
